ALL-DROGE NEWS COMPENDIUM
Summer 2010
Even though I have unofficially retired from playing live, I will make an exception and join a bunch of old friends for Hootenanny for a Healthy Gulf with Duff Mckagen, Mike McCready & Friends.
Spring 2010
I recently added a clip from Zombieland to my reel. It features The Droge & Summers Blend song "Two of the Lucky Ones" while Emma Stone dances with Jesse Eisenberg.
Happy New Year
Elaine and I have been rolling up our sleeves. We've been armed with a number two pencil and a good eraser. We are busy with work that we call 'song'. At this moment, I am in the middle of demoing a brand new one called "Not About You." Or "It's Not About You." (Secretly hoping that the demo will simply bloom into the actual record.)
Underground
Worked on a :30 Amica tv spot called "Road Trip". Used music from previous brand spot but remixed and added ukulele and toy bells. Very happy with how this one turned out.
Our "Lucky" Song is in ZOMBIELAND
“Two of the Lucky Ones” from The Droge & Summers Blend, Volume One, is featured in the new Sony Pictures release, Zombieland, starring Woody Harrelson. CNN had this to say about it, “...resembles 'National Lampoon's Vacation' -- if written and directed by Quentin Tarantino."

Invincible Summer
The Living in Between score is taking shape nicely. June saw some real progress. We are still in what we are calling ‘sketch’ mode with music while they continue to shape up the edit. This is the first time I have started into music on a project so early, and so far I like this approach a lot. I am able to work fast and stay focused on the core of an idea without getting bogged down with the minutiae of locking with picture.
Done to a Turn
Happy to report that The Droge & Summers Blend Volume One mixes are complete and in the capable hands of grammy award winning mastering engineer, Gavin Lurssen. This week we turn our attention to finalizing art work and getting our online store ready for launch.
I Can See the Forest Again
I recently composed original music for two Amica Insurance television spots directed by the multi-talented Sam Jones. I am not sure when the spots will begin airing.

What's In A Name?
Elaine Summers and I have finally settled on exactly what we are going to call our project. Drum roll please... we are now "The Droge & Summers Blend." That is our name and we are sticking with it.
A Single Step
You know it is for real when you book non-refundable airline tickets and accommodations. The DROGE & SUMMERS Blend sessions are set to begin on September 15. For those of you just tuning in, I will bring you up to speed... The "DROGE" is me, Pete Droge. The "SUMMERS" is my long time partner in crime, Elaine Summers.
