SPRING 2025
NEW SINGLE!
One of the perks of being a paid subscriber to my Substack newsletter, Love Songs Etc, is new music before it’s released.
Beginning today, paid subscribers can stream or download “You Called Me Kid.” Everyone else will have to wait until Thursday, June 12, when the track drops on the eve of Father’s Day weekend.
“You Called Me Kid” is the lead track from my forthcoming album, Fade Away Blue, which will be released August 22 on Puzzle Tree Records.
While it was written for my dad after he passed away, I dedicate the song to both of my folks. As an adoptee, I am especially grateful for their love and support.
The single will be accompanied by a music video directed by John Jeffcoat featuring crowdsourced photos of fans with significant parental figures from their lives.
LIVE DATES!
WEST COAST IN JUNE
Elaine Summers and I are looking forward to hitting the road this month for a few shows on the West Coast.
We had a chance to shake the cobwebs out during a trio of gigs close to home. First, we played Vashon Center for the Arts in March. Then we joined a bevy of Seattle music luminaries for the annual SMASH Benefit at The Crocodile and Dreaming in Analog event at The Moore Theater.
Visit Love Songs Etc to check out my ‘gig recap’ posts detailing these memorable nights.

VINYL!
Test pressings for the Fade Away Blue LP arrived, and I couldn’t be happier with how they sound. Alex McCollough at True East Mastering in Nashville handled the vinyl pre-mastering directly from Paul Bryan’s mixes. From there, Jeff Powell at Take Out Vinyl in Memphis mastered for vinyl and cut the lacquers. Plating and pressing took place at Paramount Pressing in Denver, Colorado.
The results are glorious.
We are releasing two variants. In addition to a standard version on premium V600 vinyl, we are pressing a run of limited-edition “White Label Ultra Premium” copies on D2 vinyl.
Both will be available for pre-order soon over at the Puzzle Tree Records Bandcamp store.
Members of The DrogeHead Lounge will be treated to an advance test pressing as a thank you for their generous support of my efforts over on Substack. (Offer good while supplies last.)
We’re also taking care of you CD enthusiasts, with a six-panel digipack also available soon for pre-order over on Bandcamp.
Okay, that’s all the news that’s fit to print for now. I’ll be posting about the new music and the upcoming dates over on Substack.
You can also find me on the socials and streamers. Here are little buttons to take you there.
Peace & Love Songs,
